Volunteer Intersection Map
All volunteers will receive a Cyclovia T-shirt for helping out with the event!
Volunteer Co-coordinator (8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
Experienced at the volunteer thing? Maybe you would like to help coordinate other volunteers by working with Cyclovia Staff to ensure that all volunteers know where to go, receive their t-shirt, etc. Must have problem-solving skills, experience managing other people, and ability to work well with diverse people and under pressure. Co-coordinators would need to be in contact with Cyclovia Staff and work at one of the volunteer check-in stations throughout the event. (Co-coordinator volunteers needed – 5).
Setup Volunteer (8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.)
We need your help setting up the Cyclovia. We are looking for volunteers to move barricades into place, setup the water stations along the route, help setup activities in the parks, and more. Setup volunteers need to arrive at 8:30 a.m. Setup volunteers will be assigned to one of the five volunteer stations along the Cyclovia route. Volunteers will need to be able to move barricades, weighing approximately 25 lbs. They will also need to be able to bend and lift one gallon water jugs. Volunteers will need to be able to walk at least 1/2 mile.(Set up volunteers needed – 10).
Intersection Volunteer (9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) OR (11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
One of the most important volunteer opportunities is helping out at the intersections. There are 43 intersections along the 5-mile Cyclovia route that need to be manned by volunteers during the event. Please check out the website: www.cycloviatucson.org for the route map.Volunteers will help guide Cyclovia participants as they travel along the route. Volunteers will also help residents living along the route enter and exit their homes.
We are looking for volunteers who can work a 2.5 hour shift from either 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Intersection Volunteers Needed – 86)Volunteers will need to be able to move barricades weighing about 25 lbs. Volunteers can sit at intersection, but please bring own chair.
First Aid Volunteer (9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) OR (11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
We need First Aid certified volunteers to ride and walk the Cyclovia route to respond to incidents. First Aid volunteers would also help people find water stations and restrooms. Volunteers must be First Aid certified and be willing to use their personal cell phone on the day of the event to contact emergency and Cyclovia Staff. We are looking for volunteers who can work a 2.5 hour shift from either 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (First Aid volunteers needed 12).
Water Station Volunteer (9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) OR (11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
Water Station volunteers will man the water stations along the Cyclovia route. Their duties include keeping the water flowing at the stations by changing out the one gallon water jugs when empty. We are looking for volunteers who can work a 2.5 hour shift from either 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Volunteers will need to be able to lift one gallon water jugs and communicate with Cyclovia participants. (Water Station volunteers needed 10).
Clean-up Volunteer (2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
Clean-up volunteers will move barricades, tear down the water stations, and pickup trash and recycling. Cleanup volunteers need to arrive at 2:00 p.m. Volunteers will need to be able to walk for at least 1/2 mile, lift barricades weighing approx. 25 lbs, and lift one gallon water jugs.(Total number of volunteers 10).
