Pima County Board of Supervisors Proclaim the week of March 21 – March 27, 2011 to be Cyclovia Tucson Week. The Board encourages all Pima County residents to join the fun and participate to promote cycling, walking, and to engage in other healthy street activities. Cyclovia is on Sunday, March 27th. See the map at www.tucsoncyclovia.org showing over five miles of car-free streets and the many activities that will be available for FREE. Downtown to South Tucson will come alive with fun in the streets.
The annual Cyclovia Tucson offers personal and community health opportunities via exploration of our local businesses and streets by way of active transportation. This free, unique, and enjoyable social experience encourages awareness of and advocates for a healthy built environment, encourages local business patronage, and promotes a healthy local lifestyle. The Pima County Health Department and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention “Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW)” project are pleased to recognize and support Cyclovia as a positive step toward a healthier Pima County and a great way to make healthy choices easy choices.
