Cyclovia Tucson: Downtown to South Tucson Route!
April 7, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pmFree!
Who’s ready for another fabulous day with car-free streets between downtown Tucson and the City of South Tucson? Join a GABA-led ride and make the car CAR-FREE! Find out more here. Bring your walking shoes, roller skates, or bike to the event and be prepared to see Tucson’s streets like never before.
The Cyclovia Tucson Steering Committee is organizing Tucson’s fourth Cyclovia event on Sunday, April 7th, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Another event in April is scheduled for April 28th!
Cyclovia will give people from the greater Tucson region the chance to enjoy great weather, see neighbors, friends and people from throughout the area, and get a little exercise – all on city streets that will be closed to car traffic and open to walkers, joggers, cyclists, skaters and all other forms of people-powered movement.
Motor vehicles will be detoured from the route allowing everyone the freedom to enjoy “open streets” safely and comfortably. Cyclovia isn’t a race, parade or competition. Instead, it’s a chance to enjoy Tucson from a new perspective (outside of the car). Walk your dog, roller skate, blow bubbles. Have fun because during Cyclovia, the streets are yours!
The event is free, so bring a friend and your family. There will be lots of food for sale along the event. The route goes through South Tucson restaurant row, which is home to the region’s best Mexican Food. Lots of food vendors will be set up along the route as well. You’ll deserve a big meal after going around our 5 mile loop!
