Business as Usual
Businesses on the route are encouraged to stay open during Cyclovia--and get ready for new visitors! Local businesses report increased sales due to increased foot traffic during the event. Take advantage of the opportunity to set up an activity or in front of your store/restaurant or advertise a special deal to invite Cyclovia participants in. Please contact us with any questions about logistics or ways to join in.
Puertas Abiertas
Se alienta a las empresas en la ruta a permanecer abiertas durante Cyclovia, ¡y prepararse para nuevos visitantes! Los negocios locales reportan un aumento en las ventas debido al aumento del tráfico peatonal durante el evento. Aprovecha para organizar una actividad frente a tu tienda/restaurante, o anunciar una oferta especial para atraer a los participantes de Cyclovia. Ponte en contacto si tienes alguna pregunta sobre la logística o formas de participar.
Plan Ahead
If you know you will need to go to work, church, or run other errands by car during the hours of the event, the easiest plan is to park your car on the nearest side street that is not closed for the event. If you plan to have people visit you by car during the hours of the event, plan to have them do the same--park on a side street and enjoy the sights, sounds and energy as they walk to your home. Use the car-crossing intersections marked on the map below and side streets to navigate within neighborhoods.

Si sabes que tendrás que ir al trabajo, a la iglesia o hacer otras vueltas en carro dentro de las horas del evento, lo más fácil es estacionar su automóvil en la calle lateral más cercana (que no esté cerrada para el evento). Si planeas recibir a algún visitante durante el evento, organizarse para que ellos hagan lo mismo. Luego, disfrutan de las vistas, los sonidos y la energía mientras caminan hacia tu casa. Usa los cruces de carros marcados en el mapa y las calles laterales para navegar dentro de los vecindarios.
Safe Passage
Every intersection along the route is staffed with traffic safety volunteers who are trained to assist people who need to get to their front door/driveway by car. Please note this is prioritized for the elderly, disabled, and emergency situations. If you need to reach your home by car during event hours, stop at the closest intersection and speak to an intersection volunteer who will alert event participants to the presence of a car along the route, then will escort you in or out of your home/driveway. We kindly request that you help make this experience car-free for everyone by not parking your car along the street.

Cada intersección a lo largo de la ruta cuenta con voluntari@s de seguridad que que están capacitados para ayudar a las personas que necesitan llegar a su puerta o entrada por automóvil. Ten en cuenta que esto tiene prioridad para las personas mayores de edad, discapacitadas y situaciones de emergencia. Si necesitas llegar a tu casa en automóvil durante el evento, detenerse en la intersección más cercana y habla con un voluntari@ para que alertará a los participantes del evento sobre la presencia de un carro en la ruta. Luego te acompañará a tu casa/entrada. Te pedimos amablemente que ayuda a que esta experiencia se mantenga sin automóviles para todos al no estacionar su automóvil en la calle.
